The author also claims that the Bush administration had information from a top Iraqi intelligence official “that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq – intelligence they received in plenty of time to stop an invasion.”

The letter’s existence has been reported before, and it had been written about as if it were genuine. It was passed in Baghdad to a reporter for The (London) Sunday Telegraph who wrote about it on the front page of Dec. 14, 2003, under the headline, “Terrorist behind September 11 strike ‘was trained by Saddam.’”

The neither the claim nor the article are especially noteworthy except what they may reveal of the bigger picture. Fast on the heels of turncoat Scott McClellan, Suskin is helping to further expose the illegal, unconstitutional and immoral activities of the Bush administration. I think they are some of the first that will quickly become a flood of people trying to distance themselves and those that are no longer burdened by the tyranny of Chenney, Bush and their henchmen.

I, for one, am looking forward to the opening of the floodgates.

The coming flood will wash away that smirk.

Looks like The Progress Report is beating the drum now, too. As to be expected, they are much more on point.

[Suskind] said that many of his sources “felt that at the end of this Bush era it is imperative to be truthful about this issue — going to war under false pretenses so that we settle accounts and people understand what occurred and what the truth is. So we can get past this as a country.”

The gates are definitely opening…

Failing to make any mention of ABC’s involvement in the Anthrax attacks and its influence on the the subsequent illegal invasion of Iraq is like reporting on the bombing of Pearl Harbor and only writing about the white sands of Waikiki beach. The Anthrax Attacks were the spark to the fuel provided by the events of 9/11. Instead of relegating the events on 9/11 to an isolated event of terror, the Anthrax Attacks clearly made the connection to a larger war instegated by Muslims against the US. That’s what is said in the notes sent with the Anthrax.

The Real question is not who sent the Anthrax. It is obvious it came from the US and specifically from Fort Detrick’s Biodefence Laboratory. The question is who the four high-level sources were that made the false connection to Iraq were and were they making use of this new opportunity to promote their agenda against Iraq or did they plan the mission.

In contrast to the NY Times’ reporting, Glen Greenwald’s reporting in Salon.com is spot on and a must read.

During the last week of October, 2001, ABC News, led by Brian Ross, continuously trumpeted the claim as their top news story that government tests conducted on the anthrax — tests conducted at Ft. Detrick — revealed that the anthrax sent to Daschele contained the chemical additive known as bentonite. ABC News, including Peter Jennings, repeatedly claimed that the presence of bentonite in the anthrax was compelling evidence that Iraq was responsible for the attacks, since — as ABC variously claimed — bentonite “is a trademark of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s biological weapons program” and “only one country, Iraq, has used bentonite to produce biological weapons.”

ABC News’ claim — which they said came at first from “three well-placed but separate sources,” followed by “four well-placed and separate sources” — was completely false from the beginning. There never was any bentonite detected in the anthrax (a fact ABC News acknowledged for the first time in 2007 only as a result of my badgering them about this issue). It’s critical to note that it isn’t the case that preliminary tests really did detect bentonite and then subsequent tests found there was none. No tests ever found or even suggested the presence of bentonite. The claim was just concocted from the start. It just never happened.

The FBI’s investigation into this case, now 7 years old, has been so botched that Andy Griffith would be ashamed. But that is probably the point. If the FBI revealed that the administration or “four well-positioned sources” within it planned and conducted a False Flag operation, then it would certainly call into question the events of 9/11 and reveal quite definitively who the Real Terrorists are.
